A Santa Fe Original Returns with Urgency and Fire. A departure from the artist's large-scale pastoral abstractions, in these smaller paintings on canvas and paper Horton-Trippe has turned outward, toward the political, creating a series of sardonic and critical images that serve as a warning about climate collapse and social disaster unless the world commits to evolve and revolt. In celebration of the workers of the world, EVOLUTION/REVOLUTION will open to the public on May Day/International Workers of the World Day/Beltane. Opening night will feature a collaboration between Horton-Trippe and poet Catherine Meng and translator/poet Sonja Kravanja who will recite work as an act of “spontaneous revolt.”
