KSFR History

The license for KSFR-FM is owned by The Santa Fe Community College.

10/1/1991FCC grants Santa Fe Community College License to cover Santa FE New Mexico on 90.7 MHz FM from its tower on West Alameda St.

3/13/1996The Northern New Mexico Radio Foundation Incorporates as a New Mexico Non-Profit Corporation.

12/21/2001The Santa Fe Community College and The Northern New Mexico Radio Foundation enter into an agreement whereby NNMRF will manage KSFR.

6/15/2006The Educational Media Foundation approaches SFCC with offer to swap SFCC’s License of 90.7 MHz Santa Fe for EMF’s License of 101.1 MHz White Rock.

7/31/2007KSFR starts to simulcast from transmitters on West Alameda (90.7 MHz) and Pajarito Mountain (101.1 MHz)

2/8/2008FCC formally accepts the transfer of licenses between SFCC and EMF

8/6/2008KSFR’s simulcast ends and it starts broadcasting exclusively from Pajarito Mtn. on 101.1 MHz

3/1/2024 KSFR is once again part of SFCC and The Northern New Mexico Radio Foundation is eliminated.

2/15/2025 KSFR adds a repeater in Questa, NM and KSFR programming is now also broadcast on KSQR, Questa, 91.3 MHz
