Mary Lou Cooper has reported for KSFR for over a decade, focusing on consumer issues, health, politics, and more. She is a former US Congressional staffer and remains a political junkie to this day. Cooper has received journalism awards from the Society of Professional Journalists, Associated Press, National Federation of Press Women and New Mexico Press Women. She grew up in Oak Ridge, TN and received her BA from Emory University in Atlanta and her MA from the University of Texas Austin. She holds fiction and screenwriting certificates from the University of Washington.

Anaid is a storyteller from a small town in Morelos, Mexico. She uses film and multimedia as tools for connection, healing, and social change — centering voices that are often overlooked. Her projects often emerge from a deep community collaboration, honoring the lived experiences of people whose stories deserve to be told on their own terms.

Alma Castro is a dedicated public servant and progressive leader based in Santa Fe, New Mexico. A former community organizer and small business owner, they have long championed social and economic justice at the grassroots level. Alma currently serves as a city council member, where they bridge deep community ties and an activist background with policymaking, advocating for affordable housing, workers’ rights, and immigrants' rights.

Kurt has always been a fan of most music genres. Wherever he has lived, he has always been surrounded by the music of the blues. He grew up with R&B music when he lived just outside Detroit in the 60’s and 70’s. After he moved to Chicago and then to Kansas City, he frequented many of the blues clubs in those areas.

Shawn is a natural conversationalist and story-teller. Before becoming the host of Native America Calling he was a frequent guest on the show, starting with his first appearance in 2011. Shawn’s professional background includes financial education and community development expertise, building successful consulting career as a nationally recognized financial capability specialist. In 2021 he won the FINRA Investor Education Foundation’s prestigious Ketchum Prize, for longstanding and dedicated commitment to the financial education needs of Native American and Alaska Native communities.

Samantha Daitz is a summer intern at KSFR and is soon to begin her senior year at New Mexico State University where she is pursuing a BA in Journalism and Media Studies with a minor in International Relations. She developed a strong interest for broadcast journalism at NMSU where she reports for the live, award-winning, student-produced news broadcast, News22.

Howard Houghton is a retired newspaperman who worked as a reporter and editor for both the Santa Fe New Mexican and the Albuquerque Journal.

Eric has a diverse background in radio and entertainment marketing. His radio experience began in Philadelphia, where he grew up, and includes: Program Director for Temple University's radio station, WTDR in the 80's, show host on WRTI, and later working at Philadelphia commercial stations, WYSP, WMGK, WPEN, and WEGX. Eric was air talent in Santa Fe for almost 12 years, with shows on KBAC - 98.1 Radio Free Santa Fe; 107.5 Outlaw Country; KVSF, 101.5 The Voice of Santa Fe; and here at KSFR 101.1 Santa Fe Public Radio. He has a BA in Communications - Radio/TV/Film from Temple University and an MFA in Fine Arts - Creative Writing from the Institute of American Indian Arts.

Justin H Brierley began his radio journey at a college radio station on the east coast. From 1998-2001 he produced a number of jazz and free form shows, and in 2009 he returned to the same station to produce a classical show. He quickly became curious about what was happening in the world of contemporary classical, and soon a passion was born. He is excited to bring his love of New Music to New Mexico!
