KSFR meets Lannan Foundation challenge
August 16, 2013 -- KSFR 101.1 FM, Santa Fe public radio, has completed the first two steps in a financial challenge from the Lannan Foundation named “$90,000 in 90 Days” to benefit the radio station.
The KSFR Board of Directors successfully raised in excess of $30,000 from individuals, other foundations and businesses in a three-week period in order to match Lannan’s original challenge of the same amount, said Marilyn Mason, chair of the KSFR board.
“Now, with the addition of more than $60,000 in the bank, we are well positioned to take the third step of asking listeners to contribute at least another $30,000 to complete the ‘90-in-90' campaign,” Mason said. The challenge to listeners will form the framework of KSFR’s fund drive in September.
“We are indebted to Lannan for setting the original challenge, to all the members of the board who solicited the matching donations, and very importantly to the generous donors who stepped forward to help us meet the challenge,” she said.
“We are confident our listeners will also support KSFR enthusiastically when we go out with the September appeal.”
KSFR 101.1 is the principal operation of the nonprofit Northern New Mexico Radio Foundation.
