Nov. 6 - Gold King Mine Spill Sparks Renewed Interest In Federal Mining Reform

The Congressional effort announced this week and backed by a coalition of Senators and House members seeks to reform the federal law governing hard-rock mining in the United States.  This summer’s blowout of millions of gallons of toxic wastewater from the abandoned Gold King Mine near Silverton, Colorado gave the issue new prominence.
