June 2, 6 a.m. -- North of Pecos, the Tres Lagunas fire grew to 6,200 acres yesterday while the Thompson Ridge fire Northwest of Santa Fe in the Jemez Mountains jumped to 1,200 acres.  Coming reports are expected to show that both grew overnight, fanned by heavy winds.

June 1, 11 a.m. -- Two fires burning to the East and West of Santa Fe have grown in size.

The Tres Lagunas had burned 2,500 acres at last report. Nearly 300 personnel, with air and ground equipment, are battling the fire, which jumped its containment lines yesterday. Aircraft were grounded mid-day Friday because of high winds. Officials believe lighter winds today will aid efforts to establish new boundaries.  It is zero percent contained.

The Thompson Ridge fire near Jemez Springs grew quickly after starting yesterday, increasing from 50 to as many as 800 acres. Eighty personnel are on the scene.

Evacuations include 134 in the Tres Lagunas zone and 40-50 in the Thompson Ridge zone.
