An interview with Kirt Kempter about the Caja Del Rio and the Rio Grand rift. Over 2.5 million years ago, the Caja Del Rio was an active volcanic field. This field is a part of the Rio Grand Rift which is caused by the slipping effect of the San Andreas fault as the East side of the fault is moving northward.
