Stories of Comedy, Romance, and Tragedy with Paulette Atencio
Listen to an engaging storytelling performance by the legendary and renowned Paulette Atencio at Los Luceros Historic Site as part of Dawn 'Til Dusk Day. Atencio was born and raised in Peñasco, a small community in New Mexico. Through the years her stories have intrigued the young and old and come largely through the memorable experiences of listening to her mother’s stories, full of comedy, romance, tragedy, and witchcraft. Paulette has been telling stories for more than 27 years and is truly a keeper of New Mexican tales.
Los Luceros Historic Site offers extended hours from sunrise to sunset on the first Sunday of each month, including guided bird walks with staff from the Pajarito Environmental Education Center from 7 – 9:30 a.m. Entrance is free for New Mexico residents with ID. Regular admission for non-residents is $7/adult and free to children 16 and younger.
