Please join the New Mexico Land Grant Council, El Consejo de Las Mercedes and the New Mexico Acequia Association to celebrate Treaty Day and Acequia Day on February 2, 2026 at the New Mexico State Capitol (Roundhouse) in Santa Fe.

The celebration begins at 9:30am with the "pala march" outside of the Roundhouse (meet up at the East Entrance), followed by acknowledgement of land grants and acequias in both the House and Senate Chambers at 10:30am. The program moves to the Rotunda at 12:00 noon, where Soledad Garcia of the NMAA will lead entertainment. *Lunch will be provided on a first come first serve basis. The program continues from 1:00-3:00pm, with remarks by legislators, elected officials and their representatives. El Consejo will also award the 2026 Lifetime Service Award to Dr. David Arguello of the Arroyo Hondo Arriba Community Land Grant, and the Acequia Association will recognize notable acequia projects and winners of their 2026 art contest.
