Goddesses and Monsters: Music of the Spanish Baroque

Severall Friends early music ensemble presents Goddesses and Monsters, a program of Spanish and Latin American baroque vocal and instrumental music. Featuring gambist Mary Springfels along with visiting guest artists; mezzo-soprano Cecilia Duarte; lutenist Hector Alfonso Torres and recorder player Kathryn Montoya. They'll be joined by locals Stephen Redfield, baroque violin; Kathleen McIntosh, harpsichord, and Jesse Joaquin Parker, percussion in a program of music by rarely heard composers including Duron, Literes, and Calderon.
