The First Annual Frida Fest Santa Fe at the Museum of International Folk Art.

Santa Fe, NM—Oct.15, 2025—The vibrant legacy of iconic Mexican painter Frida Kahlo will take center stage this fall as the Nacha Mendez Music Scholarship announces the launch of the First Annual Frida Fest Santa Fe, to be held on Wednesday, November 5, 2025, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the Museum of International Folk Art.
We are celebrating her powerful contributions to art, culture, and identity. Residents of all ages are invited to experience an evening filled with music, art installations, traditional Mexican desserts, and live performances inspired by Kahlo’s life and work.

“This festival is more than just a celebration—it’s a tribute to a woman whose art and spirit have inspired generations,” said Nacha Mendez, recent recipient of the New Mexico Governor’s Award for Excellence. “We’re excited to bring the community together in her honor and start what we hope becomes a cherished annual tradition.”

Held at the renowned Museum of International Folk Art, the festival will showcase local artists, live music performances, and a corset contest, including music performances by past scholarship awardees.
Tickets go on sale Oct. 5 and can be purchased by visiting : www.nachamendezscholarship.com
Proceeds benefit the Nacha Mendez Scholarship for New Mexican Girls of Color, a 501 c3 organization.
