Celebrate Pride Month with “Word is Out” Film Screening

The New Mexico History Museum is hosting a special free event honoring the voices and histories of LGBTQ+ communities. Step back in time for a special Pride movie night screening of Word is Out (1977), a groundbreaking documentary about the experiences of LGBTQ+ people in the United States, crafted by gay filmmakers. It is considered to be one of the first extended and realistic portrayals of queer people on screen. An exclusive screening of highlights from never-seen interviews with four New Mexico women of color will also be shown. This event is co-sponsored by the Human Rights Alliance of Santa Fe, Santa Fe Pride, and La Montañita Food Co-op. Free, RSVPs recommended at bit.ly/pridemovie2024
