The Washington Post reported on Sunday that four million more Hispanic voters are eligible to cast votes than they were four years ago. In the 2012 presidential race, 11.2 million Hispanics voted. Early votes in five states with surging Hispanic populations –Arizona, Colorado, Florida, North Carolina, and Nevada – showed that turnout numbers exceeded 50% of this group’s 2012 turnout. Jenna Marshall speaks to Gabe Sanchez of Latino Decisions and the University of New Mexico, and to Marcela Diaz of Somos Un Pueblo Unido, about this voter bloc in New Mexico.
