Tom Adler

Producer/Host "Folk Remedy"

Tom Adler, host and producer of Folk Remedy on Sunday
mornings from 8 to 10 is a folk musician, singer and songwriter,
teacher, actor, and landscape gardener. A Santa Fe native, Tom taught
folk music in the Contemporary Music Program at The College of Santa Fe/
University of Art & Design for eleven years, traveled around the
schools, libraries, and community centers of NM as an artist-in-
residence for the state in the early 90's, and has played banjo with The
Fast Peso String Band since 1981. He was one of the founders of what is
now Santa Fe Tradfest back in the mid 70's.

Tom has been hosting folk radio programs since 2000 starting
with a monthly slot on Thursday night's Acoustic Explorations, and in
2011 producing and hosting the Sunday morning folk music show, Folk
Remedy. The music, culled from Tom's own collection for each Folk
Remedy program includes old-timey string bands from the 20's and 30's
and early country music from that era, contemporary string band and folk
music, early acoustic blues, jug band, and gospel, music from the
British Isles, Cajun, Hawaiian, Mexican, and world folk music, and
features contemporary singers and songwriters. There is occasionally an
in-studio live performance featuring local and touring musicians as well
as phone interviews from traveling musicians right before their
appearance in Santa Fe.
