Timothy Pemberton

Broadcast Technician

Tim was born and raised in the Milwaukee area, worked at McDonald's to pay his way through college at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, where he majored in math and minored in computer science.  He programmed for 4 years before he realized his true desire was to be a cook. He learned to cook at a famous vegetarian restaurant in San Francisco, and has cooked off and on in restaurants until 2003. He even cooked in Santa Fe at Chocolate Maven and Kitchen Angels.  He moved to Santa Fe in 2001, after living in the south of France for 10 years, and fell into DJing a jazz show at KSFR!  AFter a short time he moved on to being on staff doing production when the Northern New Mexico Radio Foundation started managing KSFR. Later he became Operations Manager and did some equipment maintenance. Then in 2007, he moved back to Milwaukee to be around his aging mother and to get an associates degree in Broadcast Engineering. He worked for 9 years on the operations staff of a local TV station. He eventually decided it was time to "retire" and wanted to do that in Santa Fe. With luck KSFR needed some help and rejoined the station in June 2021. He loves hiking and public radio, and enjoys using his cooking skills to make meals for friends.
