Michael Waldron is a founder of Mt. Tam Capital Management, a small alternative asset manager. Previously at Cadogan Management from 1996 to 2009. He joined Cadogan during the firm’s infancy and was involved in most aspects of the firm’s operations and investment management, including sourcing and monitoring investments in a range of securities and external hedge funds. At Cadogan, he was a member of the investment committee responsible for portfolio management, and also focused on portfolio construction and risk management. Before joining Cadogan, he was a portfolio manager at the asset management firm L.J. Altfest & Co. in New York. There, he was responsible for managing balanced client accounts, creating client portfolios and ongoing asset allocation.
Michael attended the University of California at Santa Cruz, where he graduated Phi Beta Kappa with B.A.s in Chemistry and Art History, each with honors. He also studied Comparative Literature at the City University of New York Graduate Center. He holds the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation.
Michael has served on the board of Mountain Cloud Zen Center for several years and is currently the President. He is also on the board of the Santa Fe Pro Musica foundation.
