Dave Anderson and his wife, Jane, have lived in Santa Fe since 1971. Dave began producing and hosting jazz programs for KSFR in 2008 after retiring from his position as an elementary band instructor with Santa Fe Public Schools. He has an extensive musical career that spans fifty-five years and includes work in several musical genres including ensemble and solo work, musical theater, and recording. As a saxophonist, clarinetist, and flutist, he has performed with Nancy Ames, Ella Fitzgerald, Sonny and Cher, Rosemary Clooney, Bob Hope, Glen Campbell, Kim Carnes, Mel Torme, Chita Rivera, Freda Payne, and Linda Ronstadt as well as the New Mexico Symphony Orchestra, the National Flute Association, the Santa Fe Community Orchestra, the National Dance Institute, Santa Fe Pro Musica, SuperSax New Mexico, The Three Faces of Jazz, Time Out for Brubeck, the Santa Fe Women’s Ensemble and the Zia Singers.
Dave’s shows for “Jazz Impressions” (Monday from 1:00 to 3:00 PM) are produced with careful attention to sound, melody, and overall musical appeal and are a mix of classic and contemporary jazz by some of the finest instrumentalists and vocalists from the past and present with the wide diversity in artists and styles aimed at providing his listeners with a satisfying adjunct to their afternoon.
