April 23 - US Sen. Tom Udall Confronts Criticism for Chemical Regulation Reform

Senator Tom Udall was first elected to the House in 1998 and during his tenure has long been considered an environmental champion. Yet recently he has been garnering headlines and not a small amount of criticism for his role as the chief Senate negotiator for Democrats on legislation that would fundamentally change the way the federal government regulates the chemical industry. Critics of the Bill being called the Frank R Lautenberg Chemical Safety for the 21st Century Act, say Udall is getting too cozy with the chemical industry and advocating for legislation some claim was written by chemical lobbyists. Senator Udall joins us today live on KSFR to speak about his role crafting a powerful piece of legislation that will regulate the safety of more than 80,000 chemicals. Senator Udall joined At Noon hosts Zelie Pollon and Tom Trowbridge for a live interview Thursday.Listen Here
