By latest estimates, there are 2000 Chinese companies with investments in Africa, and roughly one-million Chinese citizens working in Africa. The official count of direct Chinese investment there is close to 22-billion dollars. Analyst Carly Laywell of the CIA-connected Monterey Terrorism Research and Education Program says this means trouble for American policies in Africa.
