Dark Canyon: A Follow-Up Interview with Erik de La Garza

On September 28, 2017 On Dark Canyon: Sexual Abuse and Secrecy in the Archdiocese of Santa Fe, we aired a follow-up story. An Interview with Courthouse News Service Reporter Erik de la Garza

Next month, a former priest with ties to New Mexico's Catholic Church sex abuse scandal will go on trial for murder in South Texas. John Feit is accused of raping and killing a young woman in Hidalgo County, Texas in 1960... less than a decade later, he moved to Jemez Springs, New Mexico to join the Servants of the Paraclete, a retreat center that housed pedophile priests and sent some back out into New Mexico parishes. The Feit trial could bring resolution to a case nearly 60 years cold. Hannah Colton spoke with Erik de la Garza of Courthouse News Service for a preview of the upcoming trial.

Hannah Colton will cover John Feit's murder trial in Texas next month as part of the special series "Dark Canyon: Sexual Abuse and Secrecy in the Santa Fe Archdiocese." Next Tuesday (October 10th) we'll bring you the next story in that investigative series, a story by Ellen Berkovitch and Rita Daniels.
