Cheryl Ford-Mente

Reporter / Anchor

I came to Santa Fe after spending all my life in the Dallas – Fort Worth area. Most of my thirty

year career was spent managing a variety of NPOs - from the American Red Cross in Fort Worth

to a performing arts theatre and school in Arlington, Texas. In addition to my many years in

non-profit, I used my BA degree in Communication (Theatre) from the University of Texas at

Arlington and worked simultaneously as the producer and host of an ACE award-winning cable

television show called Around Arlington. For over 14 years, we created over 2400 thirty-minute

programs that aired weekdays (3 times a day) and focused on anything that might interest or

highlight the Arlington, Texas residents. I also appeared in many regional theatres and received

best actress awards on many occasions. Now retired, I have an agent and audition for movie

roles, work part-time and volunteer doing the news at KSFR which I find is one of the most

rewarding jobs I’ve ever had.
